As Peer Support Facilitator my role is to help people with dementia and their carers support each other. This support can come in shape of group activities or can be putting people in similar situations together. Not everyone wants group activities so we can put people in touch with each other through telephone contact, some people face to face or it may be contact through email. To sum up my role is to find practical solutions to enable peoples to support each other.
This year’s All Together Now event will take place at the Town Hall on Friday 1st October 2010, and will be an opportunity for Stockport people to have a say about local support in later life. Everyone is welcome to come along to this free event. Please book early as places are available on a first come basis.
