All Our Tomorrow’s Partnership

The All Our Tomorrows Partnership seeks to establish and promote a shared strategic vision for Older People in Stockport with particular emphasis on maximising the independence of people in later life. Age Concern Stockport is a key player in this multi-agency partnership.

All Our Tomorrow’s Partnership Board

The Partnership seeks to establish and promote a shared strategic vision for Older People in Stockport with particular emphasis on maximising the independence of people in later life. This demands that all service providers are encouraged to think about and develop their services for people in later life in a way that will improve quality of life and wellbeing.

The Partnership is clear that the more successful it is at encouraging mainstreaming of broader wellbeing issues and improving the outcomes for older people, the more the need to rely on the health and social care services will be reduced. The Partnership is concerned equally, therefore, with issues and services that improve the quality of life of older people and help to enable them to live independently for as long as possible.

The All Our Tomorrows strategy seeks to take into account the needs and aspirations of older people according the following seven themes:

- housing and the home
- neighbourhood
- social activities, social networks and keeping busy
- getting out and about
- income
- information
- health and healthy living
Cutting across each issue is the wish of the Partnership to ensure the meaningful involvement of all older people in the planning, design and delivery of services.

Have Your Say!

Stockport’s All Our Tomorrows Partnership are consulting with older people to see if their needs and priorities have changed. If you’re over 50 we’re keen to hear your views! Tell us what you think about housing, getting out and about, health and healthy living, socialising, information and money matters by joining our informal discussions and focus groups. So far, over 1,500 people have returned questionnaires and more are attending series of focus groups and one-to-one sessions to tell us about the things that matter most to them.

All Together Now Event

The consultation ended with an event at Stockport Town Hall on Friday 7 March 2008. Over 200 older people joined with officers from the Council, Police, Age Concern and the NHS to discuss the information gathered during the consultation and help plan how it will be used to further develop the support available for older people in Stockport.

This public consultation is supported by Stockport Council's Community Pride initiative.
