Age Concern Stockport is a local registered charity and all our efforts and resources are used for the benefit of people within the Metropolitan Borough of Stockport. The organisation is a fully independent charity (Charity Number 516912), and in addition we are full members of the national Age Concern federation.

Age Concern Stockport provides a wide range of services and activities in order to deliver on our mission. In line with the organisation’s constitution all these services are designed to benefit people over the age of fifty living in Stockport. Through an ongoing planning and review process the new visions and mission are linked through the values, aims and objectives to all of our work.

Haiti earthquake

Age Concern Stockport has links with new charity Age UK (the new name for Age Concern England and Help the Aged). Age UK supports international development work in more than 40 countries around the world through its partnership with HelpAge International. One of the countries in which we work is Haiti, the small, impoverished nation in the Caribbean which has been devastated by a major earthquake.

DEC appeal

We are a member of the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC). The DEC is a coalition of the UK's 13 leading humanitarian agencies. It launches and co-ordinates national fundraising appeals for public donations on behalf of its member agencies. Together, we are launching an appeal for funds to help the estimated three million people who have been affected by the recent earthquake.
